Sun Kissed With Envy

I know this is late, but I have at least three updates for you back to back!

To start off we have a duel mani, of Sally Hanson Sun Kissed and Sally Hanson Green With Envy.

One thing you may see is the shorter nails.

I had a nail on my left hand that had broken off months ago, and once they really started to grow out, the small amount of nail missing really begin to be noticeable. And as different length nails (on me) drive me crazy, I shaped them all up so they match.

On with the colors! Sally Hanson Sun Kissed looks a glorious almost pumpkin orange creme here, as we had rain and clouds for a week with no sun to speak of (love the dark cloudy weather, but not the best when swatching), but in reality it is more peach than it seemed when I got it.

So it is not really a mate to Sally Hanson Green With Envy. It looks just how I wanted in on my nails in the picture, so it matches well there, but not outside of my camera.

It was also thinner than Green With Envy, so it took four coats to be opaque for me. That may just be what I had under my nails, but after three I could still see the nail line.

So here is where it got fun. While I had orange on the tips, under the nail, I applied Sally Hanson Green With Envy. I also used Nail Tek Foundation II to matte out the green to give it is different feel. I think that part worked well. I liked the shinny on top, matte underneath effect. I will have to try it again once I get a true matte top coat.

The picture looks exactly how I wanted this to be when I saw it in my head! But in reality, when on the orange and green are not quite suited to each other. Good idea, but I need a less peach orange for this to really work.

All in all, it was not a bad polish, just not orange enough for me.

Next up, fuchsia!

Wassabi Green With Envy

Ah cream polish.
Why I have I forsaken you for so long?
Why have I let myself be lured in by shimmer and things that sparkle?

For some reason, that I am quite unsure of, I have very few, and I mean about 3, creme polishes out of my ever growing basket full of colors. But when I saw the colors of Sally Hansen Xtreme Nails I was hooked, creme or no.

I have a weakness for lighter shades of green and orange. So when I saw Green With Envy, it was like an addict finding their favorite fix. Only this is not bad for me!
And what could be better than that!

Green With Envy may not be the most original name for a green, at least not the second time it is used, but the color here is a winner for me. I have no other comparison with other colors, but this is a nice wassabi like green creme.

I really am digging this color. I have a few greens in my collection, but nothing like this one. Will I acquire more that are like it to compare? I hope that answer will be a resounding yes, but for now, this one can fill the void for a non dark green, with gold shimmer, green. =3

The application of this was rather nice. I have found, that while the blacks and whites from Sally Hansen tend to goop up and get very think after just a few uses, the colors I have never had that problem with, and the colors, for the prices, more than make up for that. On the plus side to the black and white colors, I am sure that they will make amazing Konad stamp polishes as they are so thick.
The only thing is the brushes on these bottles They are a little long and thus tend to keep the polish up the length of the brush to be stored until you have your nails prefect, to which the polish then rushes to the end of the brush and fouls up what was a very good and clean application. But with a little bit of work and the knowledge that the brushes have a small grudge on humanity, they are not bad to work with at all.

Just for the fun of it, and because it popped into my head, I used a skull of a opossum that was found in the backyard, in this one.

And yes, the toes... I think I was kind of sitting on them right before the picture, so do not mind the red or odd marks. I tend to sit with my feet under me, so odd marks occur on a regular basis. ^ ^;;
That is all for this post, up next is the orange that I consider the mate to this one.
Hopefully I can get my favorite blogs up soon to get this one working a bit more like a blog should.
Later reader(s)!

Sexy Under The Sea

Good afternoon my reader!

Yes, kelliegonzo, I see you as my first follower! Thank you, dear! ^_ _^ <3

I know I am a bit late in getting this up, but my laptop screen conked out and I have been talking over a new one with friends and family and been at their house, and thus not at home where I have my camera and computer.

My desktop still works, thank kami! But the Dell laptop was forever old! (well, years old, but as the screen went black, it seems like it should be allot older than it really is!)

Thanks to my dear sister and her boyfriend, who is like a big brother to me, I am now the very excited and proud owner of a brand new black Acer net book!

We had dinner in with a friend last night and they said they were having problems finding something for me, and that I may have to wait to get a new laptop for a while longer. So after dinner, we were asked to help clean up a bit before a movie. My assigned task was to grab the dry laundry, and in place of cloth, I found a box sitting in the dryer containing the net book!

They really got me good! I was completely clueless!
And I am typing and getting this post put together from it now.

As this is a polish idea blog, and not a life story, onto the color!

Today's idea is a kind of under the sea theme.

Done with three coats of China Glaze Sexy In The City for the base, I used China Glaze Up All Night to do the Konad stamping.

Sexy In The City is a bright, beautiful blue with a ton of aqua shimmer. It is a glorious color.

As usual, The application was wonderful with this polish.

If you like bright blue shimmers, I would recommend this one in a heartbeat.

Up All Night is a dark sapphire blue shimmer. It almost seems like dark violet here, as when stamped on the nails, it looks like it has a purple tent to it when layered over Sexy In The city.

This one used two Konad plates, m8 and m21, with three images used to create the look.

There is a total of 9 to 10 stamps on each nail.

Yes, I even show toes! ^ ^;;

The big toes always match the tips as much as possible, the eight little toes are only stamped one time here, with an image from plate number m8.

Up for the next few posts are a few drugstore Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes I grabbed for less that $2.00 each at my local CVS.

If I had no self control at all, I would be back, as they were having sales on a very large chunk of their nail polishes.

Pity I am not a millionaire in place of a receptionist...

And with that, I am off to do my nails!
